Tech throwback: March 18, 1999
On March 18, 1999, Microsoft launched Internet Explorer 5.0
After the launch of Internet Explorer 4.5, Microsoft decided to introduce Internet Explorer 5.0 on March 18 1999. This release came with Windows 98 second edition and also Office 2000, which supported bi-directional text, XML, XSLT and other notable functions.
The Internet Explorer 5 also came with Outlook Express 5, and the release of Microsoft’s first version of XMLHttpRequest (Ajax).
Amazing and nostalgic, right?
